INSPIRATION:
It’s been through moving and living in different places I’ve discovered the ones who are in it for the long haul. They are the ones who stick with you, cheering you on your path even from afar.
My childhood friend once posted a quote that said ~ Sometimes you have to rock the boat and see who remains ~ We’d been apart for some time living on opposite sides of the world and in a moment of vulnerability, I asked if I was still in her boat, she responded; “My dear, you are what the boat is made of.” - It has always stayed with me.
I like that idea that we are an ever moving vessel through life who travel with others, short or long trips, these people are all part of my journey. A lot drift away, but a few, hold on during the storms and we provide a safe harbour for each other to return to, no matter how far away we’ve been…they are the ones who’ve become the fabric of my raft…there’s no rocking them out!… they are the ones my boat is made of. - {Excerpt from my Substack Artist Afloat}
